I saw the day..
Blood all around..
People on ground...
Chaos redefined...
I saw the day...
I saw the men...
NSG waving in..
Water flushing in..
Fire all over..
I saw the men...
I saw the child...
Innocence on the cheeks..
Sudden in a fix..
Clinging to the lap..
I saw the child..
I saw the rage...
People yelling down...
Politicians made clown..
Revolution to make...
I saw the rage...
I saw the world...
Diplomatic mission..
Pakistani reason...
Helpless on the fence...
I saw the world...
I saw the media...
Thirsty for so long...
Coverage with song...
SMSing our grief...
I saw the media...
I saw the leaders...
Few exist though...
Running for the show...
Inquiries and commission about to go...
I saw the leaders...
I saw the candle..
Lighting with hope..
Wind trying to elope...
Firm on the palm of the orphan...
I saw the candle...
Then I saw my face..
Crippled with anger...
Cooled with calmness..
Puzzled with peace...
Control is so bleak...
Nothing will change..
I say to myself...
Another day to come ..
To bring many more to death...
Sitting as we are...
Nothing matters much..
Perhaps a cricket win..
Perhaps the sensex rush...
Perhaps a child in well..
We go ahead....
I see the nation...
Bleeding like hell..
I see the nation...
Waiting for the one who will have the cat on bell....

Is Mamta the real culprit in Singur?
It was the day when TATA said Mamta has triggered the gun.
Singur was seen as the bright hope for West Bengal which could create not only thousands of jobs but also uplift the nearby areas of Singur.
But it didn't happen. At least it's like that for so now.Who's to blame? Mamta.. I doubt that.
She has just shown the same game the leftists played in Bengal for ages.
To be precise left lost their own battle.
Well it happens. When US economy can turn socialist, why can't a communist turn capitalist.
But these are pure terms and jargon.
When we read the paper or see those gory images of Singur on our breakfast table we really curse Mamta for her stupidity.
But for me it looks like blaming the driver of a train put on wrong track by the linesman which caused the accident.
I know villages in Bengal are divided under party lines.
I know if you are not in shelter of left you are going to have a B Grade status.
Mamta challenged that and to her political game plan she has removed the unconditional support regime of villagers earlier given to Left parties.
Time has changed. But the attitude has not.
Singur land row is not new.
TATA and Bengal Govt were well aware of the issue that part of land was forcefully acquired from the beginning.
To be frank I don't know how I would react if somebody asks to vacate my Flat saying it would be turned to a commercial clubhouse.
I may still agree if I get another Flat. But I should be given the option.
Land is the only thing that these poor ,neglected and brushed aside people have.
And its a world wide known fact when its on land , humans are fierce fighters.
Mamta very well knew her plans and perhaps she is doing only for political mileage.
But who will speak for these poor people.
Our well educated channels are busy interviewing corporate bigwigs showing their loss of 1000 crores in the Singur industry.
I saw hardly 1 channel actually interviewing the farmers.
Perhaps our thought process is too much biased with media.
We like to make a comment sitting in our drawing room.We really don't bother where exactly Singur is?
And this phenomena is rising everywhere. We are providing the very soft ground required to promote naxal mindsets among farmers.
What we see in Orissa is nothing less than that.
People farming are not even having valid docs to prove they own that land.So it becomes very easy to take that land away and gift to some commercial hub.
But we need industrialization don't we?
yes, but only through consensus you can get land. Not on kicking the livelihood of the farmers.
Our right to education bill is not passed in parliament. Today where China has given tremendous impetus on basic health care and education we are lagging far behind. And we don't even bother.
Probably left should see what they have not done to what Mamta has done.
I doubt educated farmers would have reacted the same way in Singur.
We are trying to woo the farmers showing lustrous flourishing dreams.
The farmer knows what he has got in his tenure from the government. How can you expect he will agree to your commitment when you can't even commit to make a water or electric supply.
To have the farmers on table the Govt should be credible. And when the Govt is not credible enough Farmers will always be jittery.
But the Govt never wants to have any focus on to gain political commitment.
perhaps that's why we have allowed several chemical factories to set up in different states which can pollute the waters to any extent but provide sufficient tax to the exchequer.
We know industrialization in turn makes the state strong on having more money to spend. but when the State Govt cant even implement their own commitments how are they going to utilize that money.
We want to be a developed country fast. That's the problem. Probably Amrtya Sen puts it right.
A country's success or development can't be just measured on its SENSEX or GDP score.
I know I may need a small car to reach office.
But more than that I need assured ration in my house.
When tomatoes are being wasted in one part of the country the other part faces the most steepest cost.
Other than Punjab as a state none of the state has been serious with Farmers.
We need tremendous agricultural reforms. Promote them . Talk about them.
Farmers are those who built our nation to this date. We are among very few countries which faced no famine after our independence.
Protest these groups. Protect our farmers. Let them breathe and live with dignity.
Do not relate them with politics of Mamta or Left.
We owe much more to them.
I can survive watching my sensex portfolio crash but I won't survive by importing my food.
Singur was a badly managed project by West Bengal Govt.Mamta just showed the leakages.
Lets accept this fact and be aware of some basic rights a Farmer can expect from our educated lot.
Its easy to give away 1000 of acres in states with less cultivation, but very difficult in states like Bengal with most of the land cultivable.
Basic education and agricultural reform among farmers is the only key to dive with industrialization in Bengal.

Biplab... I met in Train...
This is the story of a guy, I met on train and had a strange experience with him.
Well, Punjab Mail used to normally arrive at right time, at least the initial stages. I used to board the train at Mathura Junction at 7:30 AM to reach my college in Nashik. It was just the end of summer holiday or mid semester break and I was returning back from home. As usual, catching a train early morning is always difficult. And once you enter the train, it's in between sleepland.
Well, I somehow managed to find my berth and was lucky to get a top berth, a no disturbance spot. I just dumped my rucksack on the berth and relaxed over it. All the nearby members were fast asleep.
It was so infectous that I also just dozed off.
When I woke up it was around 9:30 . The train was about to enter Gwalior Junction.
I took a look and found couple of other guys in the area, who had folded their berths and were just trying get in terms of the rising sunshine.
I also got down and sat on my seat. Just roved around to see my neighbors for 18 hours.
A family with two kids were in front of me . The seat next to me, I saw a guy, looking to be in thirties, reading a book on how to speak in English - Rapidex using Bengali. Well it took no chance to predict the mother tongue of that guy.
I started a conversation in Bengali - " Apni Bangali ?"(Are you a Bengali?) . The question just added a spark to this guy and he just jumped off his seat. "How did you know?", "Well, from the book you are reading, of course", I said.
The guy gave a sparkling smile back. Where are you from?, I asked. He just took a long breath and replied- 'Bangladesh'.
'Well , what are you doing in India?' , I asked. ' Actually I came for an internship program in one of the hotels in Goa . I did my Hotel Management in Bangladesh and then came to Goa for this. Liked the place and decided to stay back. Found a job as a chef in the Hotel - La Paroda(name changed) and just like that'. 'Nobody from your family in B'desh?' . ' No, I was raised in an orphanage in Dhaka. Now I just work and send money to the institute'. ' Well that's very noble of you', I said.
'Well so what do u do? Student?' He asked .
Suddenly lot of things played in my mind. Was I being too friendly with this guy? Perhaps, I should be a bit careful. That's what happens when you learn by listening to others and not experiencing. And as always mom used to say on all journeys
1. Never get down from the train unnecessarily.
2. Never talk or take any food from any stranger.
3. Do not sleep so deep that you miss the station.
And, on every journey I tried my level best to break all the rules just to experience something new. And was quite lucky in that sense.
So when this guy asked about me , I just took a little time to plan my answers and replied- 'Well I am a engg student in a college at Nashik.' 'Oh that's good. You know what, you resemble, one of my brothers, at the orphanage. He looks exactly like you. Would you mind, if I call you chhotobhai(younger brother)?'
I said 'ya why not.. You are quite like my elder brother'.
He smiled and said 'I am Biplab. What's your name?'
The strings were still playing in my head. I promptly changed my name and said 'Asit'.
'Oh good.. Asit'.
Suddenly a hawker came, selling bread cutlet. I was feeling a bit hungry and asked the guy to gimme one.
The guy was just preparing the dish delivery when Mr Biplab also ordered one.
I took the delivery and went for my purse .
Suddenly two hands came like a striking force and held my hand reaching the pockets. I was totally at fix.
'Why will you pay, my brother? you are my little brother. You are still studying. I am your elder brother , I am earning money. I will pay.
Before I could say anything, the waiter took the amount from Biplab and went ahead.
I somehow recomposed myself and said ' Well, I won't be able to eat anything if you behave like this. Why should you pay for me?'
'Well you have agreed to make me your brother , then why should you not allow me to pay?'
I was still mulling over it. "Is this really happening? Am I dreaming? What about all the horror stories one hears from elders, about strangers? Is this guy upto something? "
The train was furiously passing through different terrains as my mind was. I was in complete fix, how I should treat this guy.
I decided not to think too much and started talking to this guy on different things about Bangladesh,India and Goa.
Biplab was fascinating in many ways. Might be because of his upbringing in an orphanage, he had seen the hardships more than me.
I had one cold drink , but had it only when he was gone just to avoid another scene.
In the night he ordered the dinner for both of us, for which I had no say.
Biplab was sharing his experiences about his college.
Suddenly he sat straight and asked - ' Do you think I am a thug?' I felt as if he could read my mind but somehow managed to say 'Why should I?'
He continued ... 'Well , you should never believe a stranger just like that'.
Let me show you my certificates. Without waiting for my comments he banged open his suitcase and dug out all his school/college certificates which proved all that was telling.
I said ' You need not show these things. I already believe you.'
However deep inside I was still questioning myself - 'WHAT IS THIS GUY?'
' 'No but still , take my advice. Always see and then believe a stranger.'
My station came late night. He came down with me to the platform to say goodbye.
I thanked him and walked towards the exit.
As I was walking to the overbridge . I heard someone calling - 'Asit... Asit...'
I experienced for the first how it feels to be called by a different name.
I turned back and saw Biplab waving vigorously from the train door.
I waived back and thought what it was, that made us bond like this.
As the train left the station, I knew we will never meet again. We will never ever talk again but the memory of this journey will forever be etched in my mind.
Sometimes friends are not forever, they are just for some moments..
Some unforgettable moments....

Ullas - is the word for cheers...
In a time when we don't even know who stays in our neighborhood but have 97 friends in the orkut the cheer is missing.
The time is missing when you were really in physical company of many people who can really cheer with you.
Now people are just stressed out if they don't receive a scrap on his/her new posted pics.
Really what a time we are living in...
This blog is my personal experiences with finding new people and friends not on orkut and yahoo but on real life on the journey called life.....
